This is an experimental 5x7 frame that I built several
years ago but never materialized into one of my frame options.
The sides are tapered from 1.75
at the bottom to 1.25" at the top. The bottom rail is slightly
recessed and measures 1.5 and the top rail is gabled and measures 2.5" at
the peak. The corners are joined using mortise and tenon joinery. Each of the corners are
then secured
using a 1/2" square peg that goes through the frame and then on the front a
pillowed ebony cap.
Here's an opportunity to own a
custom wood frame that reflects the Arts and Crafts era at a fraction of the
cost of most other frames like this.
The frame shown is constructed of
quarter sawn oak, finished in an experimental color that's similar to
Fayetteville.
This is the frame you'll actually receive.
Frame includes glass and
backboard with four recessed turn buttons to hold in the frame contents.
Outside dimensions of this frame are approximately 8.25"x11".
